It is hard to believe, but in one month, I will be running the Nashville Half Marathon. After last weekend's 9 miles, I was brimming with confidence, but I have been pretty wore out the last few workouts. Tuesday called for a 30 minute run which went only okay. I felt like I was struggling to find a good tempo and pace. I did an out and back run and realized more on the way back that it was slightly downhill which meant on the way out, I was at a slight incline which may explain some of the difficulty I was having. I also was pushing Parker in the jogger, so that can also explain some of it. Parker is teething and has been up quite a bit throughout the night, so I know that is contributing too.
Today I did a brick-45 minute bike followed by a 15 minute run. I felt pretty good, and while the boys napped I did my weights and core workout. I didn't feel as strong as I have the last few weeks, but due to family scheduling, I am now 'off' for 3 days before my long run on Sunday. I think it will be a well enjoyed break.
