This will have to be a quick one because I am worn out. Yesterday I did a brick at the gym-60 minutes of cycling and what was supposed to be 15 minutes on the treadmill. I was in a lousy mood going into my workout. It has been rainy here for a few days, and at certain times when it rains or when it snows (usually in Wisconsin), I get arthritic type pain in my left lower leg where I broke my leg and had a plate put in. In addition to that discomfort, the music that the instructor was playing during spin class was horrible. I found myself looking at the clock the entire class. I was looking forward to the run, but wouldn't you know I picked the one treadmill left that was next to a man who had apparently BATHED in cologne prior to coming to the gym. After 7 1/2 minutes, I called it a day.
Today after dropping Andrew off at preschool, I ran some errands with Parker. After picking Andrew up, both boys took an afternoon nap of about 3 hours together. I took that time to paint the ceiling in the playroom from where our roof had leaked about a year ago. I have done a lot of painting of walls, but this was my first time doing a ceiling and there was a definite learning curve involved and it is done. Tonight I headed over to the pool and swam. It was a good swim. There was a swim team practicing while I swam and I was 'rocked' all over the place, so it was great practice for my open water swim. Tomorrow will be another inside workout at the gym of 45 minute cycling. I am planning to take it easy since the half marathon is on Saturday.
I think I may have had life easy with Andrew at this age. Today Parker crawled over to a stool, stood up and grabbed onto the windowsill and pulled his legs up onto the stool and stood up. Yep, my just barely 10 month old stood up on a stool today. He did it in less than 2 seconds. I am not sure Andrew was brave enough to stand on his stool until he was 18 months old. I think it may be a tough ride.
I bought a children's gardening kit to grow sunflowers with Andrew. I showed him it today and said we would do it tomorrow after the gym while Parker napped. He said we would need stuff. I explained that everything we needed in the kit. Andrew then explained to me we would need his hat, glasses and sunscreen. It took me a few minutes, but then I realized we needed that stuff because we were growing SUNflowers. I don't know where this kid comes up with this stuff. On a similar note, I am not sure if I mentioned just before Easter we did a grow a kit with basil and oregano and it is growing really well.
Okay, I guess I had more in me than I thought.
